The Festival du Film Scientifique de Bruxelles (scientific film festival of Brussels; Ffsb) is a free cultural event offering bilingual (FR/EN) audiovisual content in the form of recent if not exclusive scientific film and documentary screenings. It is open to everyone and organised by students of the non-profit organisation Cercle des Sciences de l’Université Libre de Bruxelles (CdS) since . This year, its fourteenth edition will take place from the to the 30th of March , in conjunction with the Printemps des Sciences, organised by Inforsciences.
The festival’s goal is to instill a taste and love for science in the broader sense, by reaching audiences of all ages, no matter their scientific backgrounds. To this effect, we will be screening carefully selected documentaries, covering a variety of scientific topics ranging from geology and mathematics, to scientific ethics, ecology, medicine, physics and much more. Most of these screenings will be accompagnied by interventions by experts, both to supplement and complete the documentary, and to answer the audience’s questions, thus making the whole experience more interactive.
